Women Who Saved Moses: Bithiah

Series: The Women Who Saved Moses

February 02, 2025 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

Sometimes the brave ones are the names that no one remembers or writes down, but their impact is significant. That’s the case for our heroine in the story for this week, Pharaoh’s daughter who saved baby Moses when she discovered him floating on the river. She is not named in Scripture but we know her as Bithiah, or Bityah. Her power and courage seem hidden by her culture, but she demonstrates that she has more power to be courageous than we might think. Through our interactive children’s worship and communion, we’ll be nourished to be courageous ourselves wherever we go this week.

Series Information

The brave ones are not always the names remembered or written down. Nevertheless, they make a big impact. Five different women took risks throughout his life to save him. Had it not been for them, Moses may never have been the remarkable leader that we are familiar with today. We will dive deep into the lives of these five women and discover their stories of courage and compassion.
