We are grateful to experience the musical talents of several church members. Our theme for this special music Sunday is New Beginnings—celebrating the wonder of spring and the freshness in God’s creation.
Last week in worship we focused on the phrase “good soil” from one of Jesus’ parables. This week we look again at the same parable, focusing now on the sower.
This week in our interactive family worship, we’ll hear the story of the seeds scattered all around. Some fell on rocks, some in weeds, some on good soil.
“All creation is the Lord’s, and we are responsible for the ways in which we use and abuse it.” That is the United Methodist Church’s official position on the natural world, and this Sunday, we will celebrate those natural wonders in song and prayer as we observe Earth Day.
We welcome guest preacher, Rev. Dr. Joretta Marshall and hear the story commonly referred to as “Doubting Thomas.”
We celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus. Together, we will proclaim that love can conquer all through inspiring music, scripture, and an Easter meditation. God continues to surprise us, changing and shaping us so that our lives are overflowing with hope and love.
This week we will hear the familiar story of when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem with a humble parade. This was in stark contrast to a different parade happening, one of military might and prestige. This is just the beginning of a week marked by the highest highs and the lowest of lows.
It is one thing to be tolerated or endured, and quite another to be valued and welcomed. Often, peaceful co-existence seems to be good enough for us. And yet, the gospel paints a different picture where all people belong at the table.
As we continue to challenge ourselves to consider different views and perspectives as they relate to disability, this week we’ll look at the cultural barriers that block disabled people from accessing community.
The number one aspect of a child's life that indicates whether they will stay connected to their faith after graduating high school is if they were included in worship alongside their families. This is just one of the reasons why our children's interactive worship services are so important. This week, all ages will worship together alongside Scott Searl from ICA.
