Most of our large societal issues and problems cannot be fixed in a day. Often, we give up or assume there is nothing we can do that will make a difference. Yet, God’s best tools for transforming the world are humans—in other words, us! In Isaiah, we hear the comforting words to a hurting people that God is doing a new thing. Something is spouting up—a way in the wilderness is appearing, a river in the desert is flowing.
