Be the Best at Loving

Series: Diversity 2025

June 29, 2025 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

This week is Pride weekend and we will be talking about how we can love our neighbors in concrete, specific ways. We celebrate the wonderful gifts of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as recognize the harm that is often done towards them in the name of the church. Paul's letter to the Romans encouraged them to live with those who differed from them, not just within their Christian community, but everyone. Instead of trying to impress others with their status or their talents, he wanted them to focus on loving in concrete, specific ways. Join us in church as we challenge ourselves to do the same thing and to discern what loving actions God is calling us in this time and place.

Series Information

This sermon series on diversity affirms God’s vision for a unified yet beautifully varied body of believers. Diversity is not just a social ideal but a reflection of God’s creative design. In recognition of June as Pride Month, we will also explore how the Church can be a place where all people—including those in the LGBTQ+ community—are seen, valued, and invited into Christ’s love. We will challenge ourselves to reflect God’s love, justice, and grace in a world that longs for healing and belonging.
