You Are the Potter

Series: The Weary World Rejoices

December 03, 2023 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

This beautiful refrain from the Christmas song O Holy Night will be our anthem for the season of Advent. There is much in our world to exhaust us—starting with our everyday lives of hustling and bustling, to and fro. Many of us know people who are going through health challenges, work challenges, family challenges. Added to that, the world headlines are filled with war and division and fear. Together, we’ll explore how we can still rejoice in the midst of all of that. We’ll hear the words of the prophets reminding us that we belong to God, who continues to shape and mold us.

Series Information

We live in a weary world filled with people who are exhausted.  Tired from fighting, violence, anxiety, depression, poverty, and we aren't always sure what it means to be hopeful.  As we await the birth of Jesus, we'll hear the words of the prophets speaking to a weary world thousands of years ago.  Even amidst great turmoil and unrest, we can find a way to bring joy and hope into this world.
