The People Jesus Loved: The Judged

Series: The People Jesus Loved

November 09, 2025 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

This week, we will hear the story of a group of Pharisees bringing a woman to Jesus, testing to see how he will judge her. They accuse her of adultery and want to know if Jesus will sentence her to death. In this well-known story, Jesus doesn't punish the woman but shows grace and compassion. Not only that, but he invites the religious leaders to a new life of grace and mercy as well. Together, we will explore what it means for Jesus to love the judged and not to condemn them. How does that drastically change the world and the way we live if we replace judgment with love and care?

Series Information

Jesus didn’t just talk about love—he showed it in real, personal ways. Throughout the Gospels, we see him reaching out to people others ignored, avoided, or looked down on. In this series, The People Jesus Loved, we’ll explore how Jesus loved the outsiders, the hurting, and the overlooked—and how his example invites us to do the same today.
