This week we kick-off our fall stewardship series. What does it look like to invest in a community instead? When we invest in others, we often see how it benefits them AND us—it doesn’t hurt us.

This week we wrap up our worship series on spiritual types. Last, but certainly not least, are the Lovers. These are the people who can’t help but see beauty and create joy in life.

Mystic looks out the window at the still waters breathing deeply into Silence knowing that “showing up” Now to listen and wait on Spirit is essential for all. Fear meets Love. We are one in the Spirit. What happens to one happens to all. This is Truth. The world has a choice. God help us.

This week we’ll look at the spiritual type of the prophet. This is the least common type and possibly the most passionate. Prophets are committed to their causes and express their faith through concrete actions.

This week we begin a four-week exploration of different spiritual types, or tendencies. Are you a sage, prophet, lover, or mystic? Your spiritual type might give you and others clues about your preferences for connecting with God and with others.

Bible Sunday

This week is our first family-friendly worship service of the school year. These are always a highlight, where all ages come together to sing, learn, move, and reflect on the theme of the day.

We wrap up our series on epic tales in the Old Testament. This week we’ll read and reflect on the story of Moses and the burning bush found in Exodus.

Everyone loves an underdog. Some of favorite movies feature sports underdogs winning the game when no one thought they could (see 1980 men’s USA hockey versus Russia in the Olympics). This week’s scripture is a famous underdog—David, who ends up defeating Goliath.

Thanks to Andrew Lloyd Webber, many of us are familiar with the story of Joseph, his brothers, and his coat of many colors. In worship this week we look at the first part of this story where Joseph and his brothers grow in animosity and resentment with each other. What do we learn of God in a story where people make some pretty horrible and mean choices?

Epic Tales: Noah's Ark

From a young age, this story in scripture has been familiar to many of us. Children’s Bibles illustrate it beautifully and the rainbow over the ark makes for sweet décor in a nursery. It’s also a story that brings many questions to us as adults to figure out what it means for us and how we should interpret it.
