Who will you listen to?

Series: Seeking

February 26, 2023 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

This week we'll hear the story of Jesus tempted by the devil. He resists the persistent voice of the tempter, but it's not an easy task. In a world drowning with noise and temptations, who do we choose to listen to? What sources do we seek for news, information, media? Whose voices and messages take up too much space in our heads? This week, we are invited to choose carefully. Join us as we focus on the faith practices that will help us listen and filter what we're hearing to discern God's voice.

Series Information

Throughout the gospels, Jesus encounters people who are seeking. They are seeking a new beginning, a different life, a deeper faith. The exchange between them is one of questions and exploration. We are also seeking many things. Lent offers us a season to engage in this spiritual practice of seeking and asking questions. Each week, we will seek good questions rather than easy answers. Our faith will be shaped by our growth, curiosity, and wonder.
