Stories Matter: Let the Children Come to Me

Series: Stories Matter: Thriving Through Generosity

October 06, 2024 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

There is a treasured story in scripture where children are being children around Jesus. Some adults see it as distracting, disrespectful, and bothersome around someone so holy as Jesus. Except Jesus doesn’t reprimand the children, he reprimands the adults! He tells the adults they have much to learn about the kingdom of God from children, and he embraces and blesses them. Our interactive family services are a way for us to embrace and bless the children among us by making sure they are full participants in the whole life of the church.

Series Information

Together we reflect on how our world needs more stories of people serving others, devoting their lives to the wellbeing of others, and taking action to care for people. There are a lot of stories of fear and worry—we can be messengers of hope and compassion in a world that desperately needs to hear it.
