Palm Sunday: In Good Company

Series: Easter Worship

March 24, 2024 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

We will hear the familiar story of when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem with a humble parade. This was in stark contrast to a different parade happening, one of military might and prestige. Jesus attracted a crowd that was mesmerized by his message of peace and justice, compassion and sacrifice. The other parade attracted a crowd of people boastful of power and might. This is just the beginning of a week marked by the highest highs and the lowest of lows. Together we will wave our palms in celebration of Jesus’ mission. At the same time, we will reflect on our need for community in the midst of the good and the ugly that life throws at us.

Series Information

We have several meaningful events and worship services this week that we hope you join us for. Starting on Good Friday, we’ll remember the torture and death of Jesus through a traditional Tenebrae service. We hope you are able to join us this Sunday as we celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus. Together, we will proclaim that love can conquer all through inspiring music, scripture, and an Easter meditation. God continues to surprise us, changing and shaping us so that our lives are overflowing with hope and love.
