How do we begin?

Series: Seeking

March 12, 2023 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

Nicodemus comes to Jesus under the veil of night to ask him big faith questions. As a leader of Jewish law, Nicodemus holds beliefs that no longer align with the kingdom of God Jesus embodies. Jesus invites him to begin again, to learn a new way of knowing and living out his faith. In worship this week we will reflect on what are the questions we ask in the dark? How do we follow God's calling to begin again, to start anew, to change the way we live our faith?

Series Information

Throughout the gospels, Jesus encounters people who are seeking. They are seeking a new beginning, a different life, a deeper faith. The exchange between them is one of questions and exploration. We are also seeking many things. Lent offers us a season to engage in this spiritual practice of seeking and asking questions. Each week, we will seek good questions rather than easy answers. Our faith will be shaped by our growth, curiosity, and wonder.
