Bless This Mess: Fight & Forgive

Series: Bless this Mess

March 23, 2025 | Rev. Brooke Heerwald Steiner

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things in life. Fighting, while not fun, is much easier. From the small to the large, we are all familiar with conflict. How do we work towards forgiveness, and what does that even mean? This week we'll hear Jesus tell us to forgive over and over and tell us a parable of a man who was forgiven a huge debt but then refused to forgive others. Forgiveness should transform us and open us wider. Join us in church as we explore what this means for us and the blessing that it can offer us in the midst of a world filled with tension.

Series Information

Life is messy. The world is very messy. Luckily, our faith gives us practices to help navigate the chaos with grace and intention. During Lent, we’ll be looking at how we can bless the messes around us, within us, beside us. Honoring our bodies as sacred, embracing Sabbath in a restless world, fighting and forgiving will help us release the burdens we carry. We will explore the wisdom of living with enough, confession that brings healing, and the role of routines to ground us in God’s love. We do not have to have everything together in order to be transformed by God’s presence.
