Staying Awake to the Future
Series: Staying Awake
“Back in my day….” You can all probably fill in the blank. We didn’t have cell phones. We walked to school. We ate whatever was served to us. We respected our elders. And so on. It can be easy to slip into stereotypes of the youth and the current trends. But much is better about youth today. They are making us pay more attention to issues of climate change and mental health. They emphasize authenticity and acceptance and inclusion far more than previous generations. This week, we will talk about the need for us to stay awake to the future, in particular the future generations. Moses had his own excuses for why he didn’t want to do something new. What are our excuses? How can we partner with God in the new things that are happening? See you in church this Sunday as we explore this together.
