Series: Joy
June 07, 2026 | Rev. Dr. John F. Ross
A single word from Jesus begins our journey for June: MAKARIOS. Nine times in nine verses in Matthew 5, the word makarios begins a sentence. Greek for blessed or joyful, makarios is very different from happiness. Makarios isn’t simply everyday cheer, but a Godly joy…a deep state of blessedness, a gift of God.
